Monday Motivation: Whose Report do You Believe?

Can I tell y'all something?

Throughout life I have received reports of bad news. When I was 6 years old, a teacher brought my mother into a classroom and sat her down. She proceeded to tell her that I had a learning disability and I don't learn as quickly as the other kids.

I would never be on the same reading level with the rest of the class, so maybe she should consider putting me in classes with disabled kids. My mother didn't believe that report and she told me "Ashley, you can do all things through Christ."  This little girl became a woman and not only completed Undergraduate, but also her Master's degree with distinction.  She wrote a book and is now a advocate for the arts and communications field. Never once was I in disabled classes.

Whose report do you believe?

One summer, when I was 11 years old, my face broke out extremely bad. My mother brought me to the doctor and they told her it was a form of skin disease. There was nothing they could do for me and I will live with the skin disease for the rest of my life. My mother looked at me and said "Ashley, you are beautifully and wonderfully made" At the end of the summer my face cleared up, and I never had that problem again.

Whose report do you believe?

When I was 21 years old the doctor said he found a cyst on my ovaries and there's a strong possibility it could be cancerous. He said we have to run more test, and it would take weeks before I get the results. At that point I was older and wiser, and I said to myself "By his stripes, you are healed. Jesus already bore ALL of your sickness and pain." Weeks later NO cyst, NO cancer.

Whose report do you believe?

Throughout life we would receive reports of bad news. It's up to us to determine whose report we would believe. God speaks in "cans" NOT "cant's" anything apart from that is not God! The only TRUTH you should believe, is who God says you are. Not who your friends, Doctors, teachers, enemies, parents, etc. We place our hope in Christ alone!!

This week when you face many disappointing reports about your life. I CHALLENGE you to turn your ears away from those reports, and open your Bibles to the promises of God!!

When bills are due and you don't have the money? Remember Philipians 4:19!

When you are dealing with sickness? Remember Isaiah 54:4-5

When you are feeling weak and discouraged? Remember Ecclesiastes 9:11!!

And many more....

                                            Whose Report do You Believe?

Strong, Healthy & Wise! I believe the Report of The Lord!!

With Love,

  1. This was so good Ashley!! Thanks for sharing,

  2. So what happens when the teacher and the doctor are right? What if God doesn't cure you - who is wrong then?
Are you saying that you can't be a Christian and have cancer?

Have a watch of this, and then try and tell me if disabilities are a not a gift from God...

I'm not trying to be hard-nosed for the sake of it, but I think your God, and the God of the bible, are poles apart.
